Built
to perform with ECT's legendary durability ECT's full line
of contactors demonstrate excellent mechanical performance to compliment
electrical performance. The outstanding mechanical performance of the
contactors is assured by both design and by the materials used. The contactor
insulator parts are made from Torlon 4203 which boast low CTE, high machinability,
and excellent wear resistance.
The probe has a unique external stainless
steel spring that facilitates stable operation in temperatures ranging
from -50°C to 150°C. The large diameter external spring is designed to
extend probe life with no change in force per unit deflection even after
a million cycles at full travel.
The Bantam® probe tip geometry allows
access to the solder ball while maintaining continuous electrical contact
to the interface board. An additional advantage is that sharp edges, by
their nature, discourage accumulation solder. This self-cleaning contact
ensures tens of thousands of contacts with no maintenance. Tip configurations
designed by ECT displace contact force over a large area of the solder
ball, resulting in faint contact marks.
